Random Life Updates

So, as I mentioned a few weeks ago, I got my hair cut. It was looking particularly cute one night so I had Carlin take a couple of pictures. Here is my new, layered look:

And the back...

We were up in Stillwater celebrating my brother, Dallin and wife Samantha's birthdays a couple of weeks ago and decided to go to the County Fair. We saw a HUGE watermelon and had to take pictures to prove it:

Yep, that says 110 pounds! Seriously, the biggest watermelon I've ever seen.

The pregnancy is going well. I was reprimanded at my last doctor's visit to drink more liquids and eat more protein, so, I'm drinking 3 liters of water (at least) a day and eating protein with every meal and snack. I'm kind of getting all proteined out. Other than that our little girl is moving and kicking and healthy. No names yet, but I would love to hear suggestions.

Carlin and I have decided that we have officially been initiated into parenthood having recently taken our first trip to the emergency room. We were getting ready to leave our friend's baby shower (yay for Nichole!) when Samuel decided to trip into a brick fireplace. Right before the Georgia v. OSU game too. There was blood everywhere and Samuel was crying - although I think he was more mad at us that we were pinning his arms to his side to attend to the wound. By the time we got to the ER he had calmed down and was flirting with the nurses... until they glued his wound shut. Yep, they used glue, not stitches, with which we were just fine. He showed no signs of a concussion or any kind of serious head trauma. In fact, we were chasing him around the ER room trying to keep him out of stuff while waiting to be discharged. We did make it to the last half of the game after getting Samuel settled at my parent's house.

Samuel's bump. (Sorry, blogger keeps uploading it sideways and I've just given up trying to fix it - just tilt your head.)

Us at the game. We have season tickets and are super excited. The Cowboys are already ranked 5th in the national standings! Woohoo!

And to prove that Samuel is fine and back to his normal mischievousness:

Ahhh, poor guy! So...am I not a real parent? We haven't dealt with any stitches, although multiple dislocated arms (on two different kids!) have got to count for something, right?!

L.O.V.E. the hair! Seriously, it's friggin' fabulous!

As for baby names, call me.

Super-cute hair!! I love it! You look fabulous in your picture!!
Ewww, e.r. visits are NO FUN!! They can be sooo long...and the reason that you're there isn't fun either! I am glad that little Samuel rebounded to his busy little self!
Oooo, I loooove baby names!! I'm looking up some boy ones for my bff from high school...so I'll just gander over to the girl ones as well! I'll post later on some that I love. What type of names do you prefer??
btw....yippee for the Cowboys!! Go Pokes!!

Cute hair! And good thinking to get your first ER visit out of the way before you had to haul 2 kids there. :)

Here are a few little girl's names. Ahhh, girls are too fun! Gabrielle, Bridgett, Ava
If I hear any others that I think would fit your cute family's style, I'll pass them on. :)
I hope this helps a little bit.

You really look hott!
I love the hair and your adorable 23week belly, the 20's is always my favorite in pregnancy, cause i finally look pregnant but my butt doesn't look pregnant too...know what i mean?
Anywho, poor Samuel!
Just expect to visit the ER every six months for the rest of your natural life, now.
be ye warned...

I haven't had to take Mara to the ER for an injury yet, just various and sundry illnesses that only seem to strike with fearsome ferocity after 9 p.m. At least you didn't have to hold him down while they put an iv in him. Does that count for official parenthood?
Oh, and you know, Hannah goes really well with Samuel....just a thought there. ;)

P.S. Sean suggests Samantha. I also have always liked Vivian, which means full of life. Seems appropriate for a daughter of yours.

Do you care if I read your blog? I popped on over here from Whit's...I'm excited for you to have a girl! Hooray! Sorry, not much on the girl name front. We've had one picked out pretty much from the get-go and since we haven't had a chance to use it yet...

You look way cute and I love your hair! I agree with Coty-I like looking preggo WITHOUT the shelf-butt. You look fab!

Poor little man! I know how the ER/stiches, cuts, etc. things go! Sorry!!!

I love baby names, too! I saw someone suggested Bridget, one of my favorites. I also love Audrey (maybe too close to your name), Sarah (would be cute with Samuel). I do love Ava, too. More to come...
